With AuthorSure 1.8 and later versions, you now have greater control over how Google Authorship is made available to your contributors. This is useful if you have many contributors and you want to implement an external link policy about what they can and cannot do.
Google AuthorShip
By default AuthorSure will enable authorship for contributors, authors, editors and administrators. This setting allows you to set a minimum level for which authorship links will be added by AuthorSure in the posts (rel=author links) and on their author page (rel=me links).
Links In The Bio (as appears on the author page)
By default AuthorSure will allow links in the bio on the author page for all levels of user. However, if this is a problem and say your contributors are putting affiliate links in their bios then you can have AuthorSure automatically strip links from the bio leaving only the link text. You will typically use this facility if you have lots of contributors and want to enforce a policy of no outbound links in their bio. The profile links to Google , Twitter, Facebook etc are not subject to stripping.
Links In The Author Box (as appears on every post by that author)
By default AuthorSure will allow links in the bio to appear in the author box which appears at the foot of each of that author’s posts.
However, since the author box appears on multiple pages you may not want “link juice” to leak from these posts. By adjusting this setting you can automatically strip all links from the author box bios according to the level of the user.
Therefore for reasons of SEO you may want to set the level here to administrator so any links in author bios are removed. This just leaves a link from the author box to the author page which keeps the link juice on the site.
