Google Authorship Verification is a process you need to go through if you want to include author information such as your photo in the Google search results.
Google requires you to create some links on your site between your posts/pages, the author pages and the profiles on Google Plus, in order that they can authenticate you as the owner of the original content on your blog and then hence show you face alongside the listings for your pages in the Google search results.
AuthorSure helps you create the following linking structure.
- rel=author links between your posts/pages and the author pages on your site
- rel=me links between the author pages and the author’s Google+ Profiles
- rel=contributor-to links on the author’s Google+ Profile back to the author page
- rel=publisher links from the home page of your site to a Google+ Page
- website link from the Google+ Page back to your home page
Once the linking structure is in place do not forget to request inclusion of your Google+ profile by completing a Google authorship request – No longer required by Google.
Google now sends you an email when your Google Authorship has been accepted
